About Countryman of Derby: The Midlands' Premier Gun Shop
Established in 1986, Countryman of Derby is a family-run business and the largest gun shop in the Midlands. From our origins on the high street to our modern 4,300 sq/ft showroom with free parking at Prime Enterprise Park in Derby, we have spent four decades providing expert service to the UK shooting sports, fieldsports and outdoor enthusiasts.
As authorised UK main dealers to all leading shooting and optics manufacturers, we offer genuine, authoritative advice backed by our own field experience, alongside an extensive inventory from the world's leading manufacturers. We don't just sell guns; we offer free advice on gun fit and are able to modify many shotguns' length of pull and if required adjust the comb to fit (on adjustable comb models) whilst you wait. We are also happy to offer suggestions to improve the consistency of your mount and counter gun cant if wanted when selling a shotgun and offer free reviews of guns we have sold at later dates if required due to gun mount development. We offer free mounting and boresighting when selling rifles and air rifles, saving ammunition, money and time. We prefer to mount up an outfit when selling as doing so allows us to check for compatibility issues that can occasionally occur and make sure the rifle meet your requirements. Our physical stockroom features new and used shotguns, rifles, and airguns from brands including Beretta, Browning, Blaser, Sako, Tikka, CZ, Bergara, BSA, Daystate, FX and Weihrauch. We also specialise in cutting-edge optics, carrying full ranges of thermal imaging and night vision equipment from industry leaders like HikMicro, Nocpix and Pulsar, alongside premium country clothing from Ridgeline, Deerhunter, Swazi and Barbour.

Unlike many online retailers, our website features a real-time live stock-control system-if an item shows as "in stock" online, it is physically on our shelves ready for same-day dispatch or in-store collection. On top of our extensive retail range, we purchase and take used guns and optics in part-exchange. Our comprehensive in-store services include:
- Secure Storage: Firearm and shotgun storage at £5 per week.
- RFD Transfers: Receive Guns for transfer at £30 per gun.
- Disposal: Shotgun and firearm disposal at £30 per gun.
- Maintenance: Cleaning, servicing, and safety checks/reports for shotguns, rifles, and pistols.
- Airgun Services: Chronographing for consistency and power checks, servicing of some PCP air rifles including Weihrauch and BSA
- PCP Charging: Pre-Charged Pneumatic air rifle and bottle charging (starting from £2 for guns and £8 for 3/4L 300 BAR in-test charging sets).
We benefit from great transport links being only a couple of minutes drive from the A38, A50, A52 and M1 making travelling from surrounding counties such as Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire, Yorkshire and further afield relatively easy.
